Treasure Island is a man-made island built in the bay for the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition, halfway between San Francisco and Oakland. From here the Bay Bridge sweeps toward the city skyline, and container ships, ferries and sailboats cross the open water.

Watch the famous fog roll in through the Golden Gate on summer afternoons, and the lights of the Bay Bridge come on after dark. San Francisco is 8 hours behind London, so its sunset arrives around breakfast time in Europe.
