Akureyri and Eyjafjörður live cam

The official live camera of the Town of Akureyri, looking over the town, its twin-towered church and the long Eyjafjörður fjord.

Akureyri, Iceland's capital of the north, lies at the head of Eyjafjörður, the country's longest fjord, just below the Arctic Circle. This camera, run by the town itself, looks over colorful houses and the twin towers of Akureyrarkirkja to the fjord and the mountains on the far side.

The view changes dramatically with the seasons, from the endless light of June to snowy winter days only a few hours long. Iceland keeps the same time as London all year, so the town wakes up at the same time as the UK.

Live streams sometimes pause for maintenance or bad weather. We check every camera twice a day.
