A live camera from the Asahi Shimbun newspaper's Fukuoka office, looking at the square in front of Hakata Station.

Hakata Station is the main station of Fukuoka, the largest city on the southern island of Kyushu and the end of the bullet train line from Tokyo. The square in front of it is a meeting point lined with department stores, and in winter it hosts one of Japan's best-known Christmas markets with a big illuminated tree.

Fukuoka is famous for its tonkotsu ramen and its 'yatai' street food stalls, which open along the river after dark. Japan is 8 or 9 hours ahead of London.

Live streams sometimes pause for maintenance or bad weather. We check every camera regularly and hide those that go offline.
