Dublin grew up around the mouth of the River Liffey, and the port at its edge is still the busiest in Ireland, handling ferries to Holyhead and Liverpool and ships from all over the world. This camera, run by Dublin Port itself, watches the river where it widens past the Docklands and the 3Arena on its way to Dublin Bay.

Mornings and evenings bring the big ferry departures, and on clear nights the lights of the Docklands and the Samuel Beckett Bridge glitter on the water. Ireland is on the same time as London, so the city wakes up just as most of Europe does.
