The official live camera of the Kyoto City Tourism Association on the path through the Sagano bamboo grove in Arashiyama.

The Sagano bamboo grove in Arashiyama, on the western edge of Kyoto, is one of the most photographed places in Japan: a narrow path that winds between towering green stalks that sway and creak in the wind. This camera is run by the city's official tourism association, partly to show visitors how crowded the path is before they go.

Early morning is the quietest time, and in the evening the grove fades into darkness. Watch the light change through the seasons, from fresh green in spring to snow-dusted stalks on winter mornings.

Live streams sometimes pause for maintenance or bad weather. We check every camera regularly and hide those that go offline.
