Montreal Walking Tour: Old Montreal

A two-and-a-half-hour walk that starts in front of Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Montreal and follows the cobbled streets of the historic district: Place d'Armes, Rue Saint-Paul, Place Jacques-Cartier and the domed Marché Bonsecours, with a stop at the little Sailors' Church.

It then goes down to the Old Port for the Ferris wheel and the boardwalk to the Clock Tower before heading uphill to the Quartier des Spectacles, Place des Arts and the Complexe Desjardins. A good introduction to the French-flavoured old town and how it meets the modern centre.
