About this video

A very thorough walk through Melbourne's grid-shaped city centre, filmed on a sunny January morning in 2025 (about 22°C). It starts at Flinders Street Station, follows Elizabeth Street up to the Queen Victoria Market and spends a long stretch around Melbourne Central, the State Library Victoria and the Bourke Street Mall.

The second half goes looking for the city's laneway culture: the graffiti of Hosier Lane and the narrow Hardware Lane, with St Paul's Cathedral, Princes Bridge over the Yarra and Swanston Street in between. The walk finishes in the newer Docklands area, past Southern Cross Station and Marvel Stadium to the Newquay Promenade. A route map appears near the start.
