Exploring Shoreditch and Hoxton

A short narrated history walk through Shoreditch and Hoxton with a London writer and walker, rather than an ambient stroll. It starts where the first Elizabethan playhouses stood, explains the Roman roads that cross the area, and tells the story of the Old Nichol, one of Victorian London's most notorious slums.

It then visits Arnold Circus, the bandstand estate built on the slum's site, St Leonard's Church and Hoxton Square, and ends with the story of Hoxton's old medicinal well. Watch it for the history behind the street art.
