Eilat, at Israel's southern tip on the Red Sea, is a sunny resort town between desert mountains and coral reefs. It is popular for diving, snorkeling and winter sunshine.
The sea
The Coral Beach Nature Reserve protects a reef right off the shore, perfect for snorkeling. The Underwater Observatory Marine Park lets visitors see fish and corals without getting wet. Dolphin Reef offers encounters with dolphins.
Town and desert
The promenade around the marina is lined with hotels, shops and restaurants. Timna Park, north of the city, has ancient copper mines and red rock formations.
