Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland, sits right on the Arctic Circle. It is famous as the official hometown of Santa Claus and as a base for northern lights, husky and reindeer adventures.
Santa Claus Village
Santa Claus Village, on the Arctic Circle line, has Santa's office, a post office and shops. Visitors cross the white line that marks the Arctic Circle.
Arctic nature
The Arktikum museum explains life in the Arctic. In winter, husky and reindeer sled rides cross snowy forests, and the northern lights can be seen from late August to April.
