A day in Rangamati

Hire a boat for the day to explore Kaptai Lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in South Asia, created in the 1960s when a dam flooded the valley. The boat passes forested hills and islands, stops at the Shuvolong waterfall, which is fullest during the monsoon, and visits floating markets and island restaurants. Back in town, walk across the Hanging Bridge and visit the Rajban Vihara, a Buddhist monastery where monks welcome visitors. Chakma weavers sell colorful handwoven textiles in the local markets.
