Istanbul Walking Tour

A south-to-north crossing of central Istanbul on a hot July midday (about 27°C), from the old city to Taksim in a little over two hours. It begins in Sultanahmet Square and the park between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, passes through Gülhane Park and reaches the historic railway station at Sirkeci before entering the Spice Bazaar.

The second half crosses Galata Bridge, follows the Golden Horn and climbs the curving Kamondo Stairs to Galata Tower, then walks the full length of Istiklal Avenue up to Taksim Square. It is the best single video here for seeing how the historic peninsula and the Beyoğlu side connect on foot.
