Faisalabad, Pakistan's third-largest city, is a major textile center. Its colonial-era center was designed with eight bazaars radiating from a clock tower, like the Union Jack.

The Clock Tower

The Ghanta Ghar clock tower stands at the center of eight bazaars, each specializing in different goods, from cloth to spices.

The city

Jinnah Garden is a large green park. The city is known for its lively Punjabi food culture.

A day in Faisalabad

Start at the Ghanta Ghar clock tower in the heart of the city, and wander into the eight bazaars that radiate out from it, each with its own trade, from Kachehri Bazaar to Rail Bazaar. The streets are busy with rickshaws and shoppers, and textile shops sell fabric straight from the city's mills. In the afternoon, relax in Jinnah Garden, then visit D Ground in the evening, a popular area for food and shopping. Faisalabad's Punjabi food is hearty, with paye, haleem and fresh lassi.
