About this video

Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest continuously inhabited cities. The walk starts in the Central Park with its fountains, passes the Roman Forum and the ancient library, then follows the long pedestrian Knyaz Alexander I street past street musicians to the Roman stadium half-buried beneath the street and the Djumaya Mosque.

It then climbs into the Old Town, with its colourful 19th-century Revival houses, the Church of St. Constantine and Helena, the Regional Ethnographic Museum and the hilltop of Rahat Tepe.
