Wrocław, on the Oder River, is built across a dozen islands linked by more than 100 bridges. Its colorful Market Square and hundreds of small bronze dwarf statues make it one of Poland's most charming cities.
Market Square
The Market Square has a gothic Old Town Hall and colorful houses. More than 600 small bronze dwarfs are hidden around the city, a playful symbol of an anti-communist movement.
Cathedral Island
Ostrów Tumski, the oldest part of the city, has a cathedral and gas lamps lit by hand every evening. The Racławice Panorama is a giant circular painting of a battle.
