Budva is the center of the Budva Riviera, Montenegro's most popular stretch of coast. Its compact walled old town sits on a small peninsula, surrounded by beaches, a long promenade and some of the liveliest nightlife on the Adriatic.

The Old Town

Budva's old town, more than 2,500 years old, is a maze of stone lanes inside Venetian walls. The citadel at the tip has a small museum and views over the sea, and the churches of Saint John and the Holy Trinity stand side by side on a small square.

Beaches and Sveti Stefan

The seafront promenade runs along Slovenska Beach, lined with cafés and bars. A cliff path from the old town leads to Mogren Beach, a pair of sandy coves below the rocks, and the 'Dancer' statue on a rock in the sea.

A few kilometers south, Sveti Stefan is a former fishing village on an islet connected to the land by a narrow causeway, now a luxury resort and one of the most photographed views in Montenegro.
