Bogotá, Colombia's capital, sits at 2,600 meters on a plateau in the Andes. Its colonial district, La Candelaria, is full of street art and museums, and Monserrate mountain rises above the city.

La Candelaria

Plaza de Bolívar is the city's main square, surrounded by the cathedral and government buildings. La Candelaria's colorful streets are covered with murals. The Gold Museum holds more than 50,000 pre-Columbian gold pieces, and the Botero Museum has works by Colombia's famous artist.

Monserrate

A cable car or funicular climbs Monserrate, at over 3,100 meters, for sweeping views. On Sundays, the Ciclovía closes major roads to cars for cyclists.
